Simple GIS requires a Microsoft Windows 64-bit operating system. It is compatible with Windows 7 up through the most current version of MS Windows (Windows 11 at the time of this writing) as long as it is 64 bit.
Simple GIS Client is lightweight and can run on the most basic hardware. The machine must support 64 bits as stated above under the operating system requirements. The software does require approximately 450 MB of free disk space for the software and associated data installed with the software. While the software can run on basic hardware, performance is proportional to hardware specifications.
Simple GIS Client offers both subscriptions and perpetual licenses. Subscriptions provide access to Simple GIS Client and all associated plugin extensions while their subscription is active. Once a subscription is cancelled or not renewed, the software will cease to function. As such, subscriptions have recurring billing based on the term of the subscription. Subscriptions have lower up-front cost than perpetual licenses.
Perpetual licenses grant the user the right to use the current licensed version of the software for as long as they desire. In addition, users can upgrade their software license to the latest version during the first 12 months after purchase. After 12 months, users can upgrade their license to the latest version at a 50% discount. While perpetual licenses have a higher up-font cost, they can have a lower total ownership cost than a subscription.
Simple GIS can offer corporate licenses at a discount based on number of licenses purchased. In addition, Simple GIS can offer discounted annual software maintenance plans to provide access to the latest software. Interested parties should contact us using our Contacts page to request a quote.
With each new purchase, a complimentary 30-minute online training and support session is included. For further assistance, additional 30-minute sessions can be purchased at a rate of $50 per session. Training can be scheduled at Online Training Request.
Only if the license has been provisioned for more than one machine. When you purchase a license, you select the quantity. This represents the number of machines or users your license will be provisioned for. Therefore, is a user wanted to install the software on a desktop pc and a laptop, they will need to purchase 2 copies of the software. In this case, they may only receive a single license key, but it would be provisioned for two installations.
